Full Description

I had been nervous about 7in7, trying to decide what to do. I finally decided I’d cook meals for some of our neighbors because I love to cook and it’s fun for me. Just this morning I was talking with a friend and she unknowingly told me, “This is about pushing our creativity!” And while she wasn’t trying to get me to not cook meals, she did help me realize the Lord has given me more than just the ability to cook. (BTW- cooking is an incredible creative outlet, so for those of you doing that this week GO YOU! That’s awesome, I just personally needed to branch away from that, but it might pop up this week for me anyway!)

So I came home and decided to break out my art box and start painting. Before I even touched the brush to the paper and had any clue what I was going to paint, I knew I was painting something for my mom. Because no one loves our arts & crafts projects more than our moms, right? This is what I ended up creating and I sent her a picture. She replied (singing it’s praises of course, she’s my mom after all) and asked if I’d known she was studying Peter right now. I had no idea, but she was really touched and encouraged, and in the most mom-like fashion, she sent me a picture of exactly where she was going to hang it above her study desk.

Tonight, I’m so thankful for 7in7 and the reminder that I’m more than what I’m used to being. I’m thankful for the Lord’s guidance and healing. I’m thankful for the way He’s spoken so clearly to me tonight and I’m definitely feeling encouraged for the rest of this week.
